They are on their own network
We will set up on teacher computers so that teachers can choose any printer
Sixth graders will see a list of 6th grade printers, LRC, etc. to choose from
Teachers will not need to add printers themselves
Daily Logistics
Expectation: Students take laptops home every day and charge
There will be a curfew on the laptops - can't use them after a certain time (10:30?)
Chargers stay home!
Charging is available on the carts - the first five slots are caffeinated
Cart must be plugged in to the wall
4th period class will be your "laptop" class - they leave the laptop in your room
When do the kids come back and pick up their laptop? On an as-need basis - do they need it for Communications
Once the kids pick up their laptops in the afternoon, they keep it
Bags can be kept on the backs of chairs/ in the desks
The biggest sticking point is where will the laptops be kept during P.E.?
Teachers would prefer if students would pick up their laptops at the beginning of sixth period
Security
Lock carts at the end of the day - not all students will need to take home every day
Kids leave students out after school

If you find a kid with a laptop out of the bag, there needs to be consequences.
Never leave an open laptop

password is "hello" to begin with
Doesn't sync everything at login and logout - every 5 minutes - syncing anything in Documents and Desktop that has changed
When sync is in progress, you will see a syncing icon in the menu bar (two little houses) blinking black & white - there may be a delay in processing speed, but students need to be patient
You can sync home manually
